In the morning session, Mr M Subramanian, Principal, R L Institute of Nautical Sciences, spoke on International Maritime Organisation. He explained the circumstances that necessitated the formation of IMO. He also discussed its formation and its sub-committees and their relevant functions. Interaction with the participants, particularly the Master Mariners, marked the final phase of the session. In the afternoon, as usual, participants made presentations.
