Title : A REPORT ON TRAINING OF TRAINERS AND ASSESSORS [TOTA]

RLINS – With a Sense of Shared Responsibility for Student Learning Teachers play a vital role in the overall development of the students. Not only are they responsible for imparting academic knowledge, but are also responsible for inculcating the right values and principles to their students. For enhancing teacher expertise the management of RLINS conducted a TOTA course [Training of Trainers and Assessors] for the Faculty members who have joined new. This course for professional development was scheduled for 13 days from 15th of January to 29th of January 2010. Mr. M. Subramanian, the Principal of the Institute and Mr. G.R. Balakrishnan, Chief Educational Officer, SLF inaugurated the course and illumined the programme with their lectures. Many eminent personalities like Dr. Jeyalakshmi and Dr. Shantha from Madurai Kamaraj University, Dr. Anbanandham from Annamalai University, Dr. Nataraja Rathnam of Arun Hospital, Thirumangalam, Capt. G.S. Ranganathan of Sri Chakra Maritime College, Cuddalore, Dr. R. Srnivasan, Principal, SLCS, Mr. M.D. Manoharan, Director, RLIMS, Capt. S. Hati, Vice Principal, RLINS, Cmdr. S.P. Singh & Cmdr. Shree Kumar, RLINS enlightened the freshers with their guest lectures. Topics like Personality Development, Stress Management, Art of Questioning, Education and Media, Cross Cultural Communication etc., were dealt with. On the final day Dr. G.R. Balakrishnan [COE –SLF] the course in charge and Mr. M. Subramanian, Principal of the Institute distributed the certificates to the participants.
