The 80 acres sprawling campus, the green lawns, the awesome infrastructure, the dedicated trainers and the happy cadets complete the picture of serious learning at RLINS.

Here, learning is a joyful experience. Cadets and trainers motivate each other to explore new horizons of knowledge. The aim is at developing a scientific temper in the students without compromising on the creative side.

The institute is equipped with a real size “Ship-in Campus”, modern Simulators, Huge and modern laboratories, well furnished and equipped classrooms, Computer lab with 10mbps internet, Library; all single room accommodation in the hostel for more than 800 students, the list is never ending.

Recognitions

The institute is ISO 9001-2008 certified and was rated as “very good” by Crisil. This ensures that a high standard in the field of Maritime Education and Training is maintained at all times.

RLINS  has a well defined Quality Management System (QMS). The  policies and procedures  are designed to meet the requirements of statutory bodies like Directorate General of shipping, and  Birla Institute of Technology and Science(BITS), Pilani. The RLINS  Quality Management System has been certified by the Indian Register Quality Systems (IRQS) to meet the requirements of ISO 9001:2008.

ISO 9001:2008 also incorporates continuous performance evaluation of various aspects of the functioning of the institute by using statistical techniques.

The graduations programs BS(Marine Engineering) and BS (Nautical Technology) are degree programs offered as an off campus center of Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, a deemed university widely recognised as one of India's pre-eminent centers for technological education.

The Degree from BITS also opens new horizons for higher studies as it is widely recognised by Universities in the United States, Europe and Australia.

One year “Graduate Mechanical Engineers” (GME) program is a certified program for graduates in Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture to enable them to join the main stream of Marine Engineers.
“Ships Electrical Officers and Engineers” (SEOE) for Graduates and Diploma holder in Electrical Engineering to enable them to join Merchant Ships as Electrical Officers.

BS(Marine Engineering), BS (Nautical Technology) and GME courses are approved by the Directorate General of Shipping, SEOE course is approved by Det Norsk Veritas,

High standard of discipline ensures that the cadets are prepared for the tough career at sea, where this is absolutely essential.

A dedicated placement cell works round the year to achieve 100% placement. So far the records are excellent.

English Language Lab, equipped with modern learning gadgets, was set up to facilitate cadets in enhancing their English communication skills.

Compulsory Physical Training in the morning, abundant sports facilities, swimming & diving pools, gymnasium – all dedicated to the students to maintain a “sound health” along with a “sound mind”.
