Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy College of Science(SLCS) is run by Subbalakshmi Lakshmipathy Foundation (SLF). SLF is a charitable trust which was started in the year 1989 to promote career-oriented education on a non-profit motive basis.
The college is situated on the Madurai - Aruppukottai road, within 6 kms distance from Madurai Airport and 16 kms from Madurai Railway Station. Madurai is a place of historical importance, 480 kms south of Chennai in Tamil Nadu, which housed the Tamil Sangam in 16th Century and also has the most popular temple of the Goddess Shri Meenakshi, the guarding deity of the city.
